Places to Stay for course days

Heya, so Im doing a postgrad diploma at Bath, however as they changed me to a hybrid course from an online one, I wish to know what areas are great to stay for a few days every 2 months during the course.

Im mainly looking at hotels and airbnbs, however I am debating if it is worth staying in Bristol or Cardiff and commuting if it is too expensive (im going to be dong 8am-5pm days per course day).

ideally needs parking as it is 3-4 hours away by car and train from where I live

Hi there,

Great to hear you're going to be joining us at bath - I know its annoying having to change your plans from online to hybrid, but hopefully this will give you the chance to immerse yourself in campus life and give your time here another dimension.

In terms of Travelodges, there is Bath City Centre, Bath Waterside and Bath Central which are all good choices. Premier inn also have a place in Bath City Centre, and you could also stay at the YHA near Bath city centre - all of these are pretty budget friendly, can do bookings for 1-2 days at very short notice if you need it and have onsite parking.

Do you have anyone from your course/the uni who lives close by? Would there be a possibility of staying with a friend?

Hoping this helps a bit - best of luck 🙂

Hello,

Whilst it might not be your preferred type of accommodation, the youth hostel offers private rooms and is about a 10 minute walk up the hill to the campus!
There's parking available and it is in a very pretty location.

I ended up going for holiday in as it was the only one with onsite parking 😂.

Cost wise, Bristol would've been great but it would have taken ages to get there. Interestingly enough, hilton costs the same as holiday inn and both are cheaper than travelodge and Premier Inn but both the chilton's had no onsite parking
