Should I apply for English BA or Drama and English BA at Manchester?

I'm currently in Yr13 and studying Drama, English Lit and History A-levels, predicted A*AA (but doing some extra English work so hopefully will be able to move that up to an A* as well) and feeling so conflicted about whether to apply for English or Drama and English at UoM! I'm applying for English/English Lit at my four other unis but Manchester has me feeling so conflicted as I loved the Drama course and dept. when I went to the open day.

I've emailed the Drama department admissions and they said they would be open to accepting a supplementary personal statement (as my main PS is English focussed) so its definitely possible for me to apply.

The main thing I'm concerned about is how my qualification will be viewed after uni when I'm trying to get a job, and if Drama and English will be seen as less valuable than a single honours English degree. (Not entirely set on what industry I would like to go into but maybe something TV/journalism based?)

If anyone has any advice/thoughts/experience on this I'd really appreciate it, thanks!

Hi! You could maybe see if the English course lets you take any modules outside of English? I was having the same conflict with Creative Writing and Film but some unis will let you take a module outside of your chosen subject. Hope this helps and best of luck with everything!
