Hi everyone,
I just wanted to reach out for some advice or encouragement because I’m feeling quite lost right now. I applied for Medicine for 2025 entry but didn’t get any offers, and I ended up with a BCC in my A levels. I was predicted A*AA, so it honestly broke me a bit when I saw my results. Medicine has always been what I’ve wanted to do, and even though I still want it more than ever, I’m scared that maybe it’s not possible anymore.
I’m taking a gap year (possibly two) to work, resit my exams, and prepare for the UCAT again. I’m hoping to reapply for 2027 entry if I can get AAA on resit and strengthen my application. I’m on a Skilled Worker Dependant visa, so I’m not eligible for Student Finance yet.
If anyone’s been through something similar, getting lower grades, resitting, or taking time out before reapplying for Medicine, I’d really love to hear from you. Did you manage to make it work? How did you stay motivated, and what made the biggest difference in improving your application?
Right now, I’m just trying to figure out if Medicine is still realistic for me or if I should start looking at other paths that still connect to healthcare. Any advice, stories, or even reassurance would mean a lot.
Thank you so much for reading ❤️
