We have a few courses that require a satisfactory portfolio as part of the conditions. you can find this list here.

Application process
The admissions process has the following steps.
1) Apply through UCAS.
2) Receive an initial conditional offer from us, this will be based on assessment of your predicted grades or academic achievements.
3) Respond to our request to share your digital portfolio
4) This is really important. We cannot progress your application until you share your portfolio with us.
5) Your portfolio will be assessed by the course team
6)Following the portfolio review we will either:

confirm your offer of a place on the course you have applied for, or

make you an offer of a place on an alternative course.

7) Respond to our offer make Brighton your firm choice on UCAS.

What does my portfolio need to look like?

Your portfolio is a selection of your work presented in a digital format that we can look at online.

It should be accessible from a single link and should be published on one platform such as Blogspot, Blogger, WordPress, Flickr, Wix, Vimeo, YouTube or SoundCloud. The platform you choose may depend on the type of work you want to show.

The reviewer should be able to access your portfolio via a web browser such as Safari, Chrome or Firefox without having to enter a username or password Make sure that you include images of your work with clear captions, or a show-reel if you're applying to a course such as music or animation.

For some courses you may also be asked to provide a supporting written statement.

Take time to plan and prepare what you include this can really help the story of your creative development.

You can find more detailed advice on what your portfolio needs to look like by following this link and selecting your course or through the information we will provide when requesting the portfolio.

You can also take a look at our short portfolio advice YouTube video!

TOP TIPS
I always recommend submitting your portfolio and waiting for a response, before making your firm and insurance choices.
Check the conditions of your offers to make sure you know exactly what you need to do to get onto the course.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions about studying in Brighton or portfolios!
