Advanced Higher Modern Studies HELP

I've taken this on to AH after doing National 5 and Higher but am STRUGGLING.

I'm really confused about the essay structure and how to revise. I felt a bit naive at the start thinking it would be easy but I've had practically no support from teachers. I understand at AH level you are expected to be more independent but does this mean teaching myself the entire course?

I also cannot find any decent online resources.

If anyone has any tips or resources to share, I'd be deeply grateful.

As much as I'm not doing Advanced Higher Modern Studies, I was able to find this playlist on YouTube with some videos you might find useful. It is about 5 years old, though, so some information may be a bit out-of-date.

I would also like to add that my friend did Advanced Higher Modern Studies last year and had a similar experience with her teacher. She failed her prelim but still managed to get an A in the exam, so it's entirely possible to do well without great support from your teachers. I hope you find this encouraging! 😊

Ahhh I feel you, I was the same when I started ah mods. lowkey I had no clue about essay structures either and just kept staring at the textbook lol. I ended up joining this thing called LockItIn, it’s basically a community of scottish students helping each other with their nat 5s, highers and ah’s. I only used the free part, but there are coaches who gave me a lot of help and support for mods. tbf you could just join the community side and see what works for you
