Based on your grades, I’d definitely say it’s worth applying to LSE for Accounting and Finance. Your GCSEs (8888877775) are solid, they do meet their minimum gcse requirements assuming the 5 isn't in maths or english, which they require to be at least a 6.

As long as the 5 is in a non-core subject, you're fine, Universities care mainly about your A level grades and other experiences, GCSE's tend to be the bottom of the barrel thats get's checked when applications are equally impressive accross the board. Your predicted A-levels of AA*A* in Physics, Accounting, and Maths are excellent, they meet and even exceed LSE’s typical offer which I believe is AAA.

While LSE is highly competitive, your academic profile puts you within range of strong applicants. Just remember that LSE looks closely at your personal statement, so make sure it shows genuine academic interest in Accounting and Finance, writing research papers on a topic of interest in the area, or doing some form of related work experience/internship will grealty improve your chances.
Overall, you’ve got a very competitive application, so it’s definitely worth applying just keep a balanced UCAS list with a mix of aspirational and solid choices.

Hope this helped,
Alfred,

Thanks a lot for the advice, alfred. You were correct in assuming the 5 is not in Maths or english. Thank god its in french so i think i will apply as an ‘ambitious’ choice and see what happens

So I wanted to apply for accounting and finance at LSE, but my subjects are maths, further maths and chemistry. LSE have said in their entry requirements that further maths is considered as a 4th subject but if taken as a 3rd, will be considered if you have maths, further maths and an essay subject. I emailed them my situation but all they said was that there's no set subject combination and that applications are considered holistically. Given the course has such a low acceptance rate, I'm thinking to apply for finance instead but then again, my PS won't be tailored since all my other courses are A & F. I'm not sure now whether to apply to both A & F and finance at LSE or just one. (My predicted grades are A*A*A, gcses 7-9s). Please could someone advise, I'm very confused!

I'd say it's still worth giving a go, especially as you've mentioned that the 5 is in an unrelated subject (French), just make your personal statement stands out as that it something that LSE looks out for
