can i mention my spanish IRP in my politics/IR PS

My independent research project (IRP) for my a level spanish speaking exam is about spain's historical exceptionalism with regards to having a large right-wing populist presence in government and the end of this exceptionalism in recent years. I think it would be interesting to include what i learnt from it in my personal statment for IR/politics but is it actually a good idea? since it's not entirely indepedent in the sense that i have to do an IRP for the a level, but i could've done it about anything spanish related.

I would assume it is fine, to mention it in your personal statement as it does show an interest in politics.
You could either just say that you did some research into (...) as you were interested in it, which is definitely true, and don't mention it was part of a Spanish a level,
or mention that is was part of your Spanish a level and use it as part of how your a levels have prepared you for the subject,
or if you don't want to mention it as you are worried its not as "independent" , get your Spanish teacher or whoever does it at your school to mention it in the reference to show how you have shown you are interested and ready for politics at university.

Hi there,

I hope you are doing well! I do this it would be worth mentioning for sure as this would relate to your subject you wish to study. It could be useful to write one or two sentences about what you have learnt about it and how you are going to take this forward with your upcoming degree.

Hope this helps!
