I'm not sure how to help my friend who runs out of money with 12 days to go until pay
I have a friend who works as a picker.
He gets paid on the 25th. However, for the last 3 years, he always runs out of money between the 11-13th of each month.
Per month expenses:
One bedroom studio rent per month: £550
Council Tax: £0
Water Rates: £0
Electricity and Gas: £120
Child £100
Travel £70
Food £200
Out: £1040
That means he should have £660 left
He goes to the pub every Friday evening and from Sat afternoon. Buy pints and maybe shots. But if he runs out of money around the 12th, I don't think he goes to the pub. Maybe asks he's relatives for money if he does get money to go to the pub.
He goes on the gambler in pubs too.
He has a young daughter about 3 years old.
Around the £12th, he asks £5 from me for food, which is usually chips.
I'm not sure how to help him.

If it’s been ongoing for three years, does he need help? Unless he’s leaching money left right and centre, it’s not really on you to give him budgeting lessons.

apart from advising him to spend less on alcohol (or get a better paying job) there isn't much you can do
