Warwick personal statement for STEM subjects

Hey everyone, I really need your help.

My top uni choice is Warwick, I want to do cybersecurity, I fit the entry requirements for it with contextual offer, only that I did more social science/artsy based A levels.

I want to make my personal statement as GOOD as I can, making me a very very strong applicant. I’m on a gap year so use my time to study cybersecurity to prepare me before uni.

Please if anyone goes to Warwick/does cybersecurity/computer science please could I have tips for my personal statement. Especially as they have changed personal statement format from last year.

I would really appreciate your help so much! Thank you !!

Biggest tip would be don't be fooled by Q2. It says "How have your qualifications and studies helped..."
You don't have to use A Levels at all there if they aren't relevant to the course you're applying to.
The better statements I've been reading either don't discuss A Levels at all or will mention 1 as a bridge into something they've studied independently.
"Studies" can mean books, videos, anything you've used to learn on your own.

Hey! Thank you so much

I actually have some follow up questions:

1) because I did English Language, Sociology and Fine Art - they don’t exactly match but could I mention them and say how the skills I have learnt from them is relevant to cybersecurity and the way I could apply them to my degree?

2) For my course choice and uni, would you recommend me sending in my UCAS application around this time (late Oct/early Nov) or normal time (early Jan), to get an offer “faster”? Does it make a difference?

3) I would appreciate any other tips you have for me that you find most suitable, if you wouldn’t mind?

Thank you so much!
