Oxford Medical Electives (2026-2027) Application Help

Hi there,
I'm a medical student from New Zealand super keen to apply for and do my overseas elective at Oxford in 2027. I know this is a competitive process, so I'm looking for advice from previously successful applicants/those you know have been successful - about what they included in their CVs? Additionally, who to contact for LORs (super successful consultants, or those who are more likely to write generously for me)? Finally, is there any benefit in applying for "less popular" areas e.g. neurology/opthalmology, over say clinical medicine? I'm wondering this because I noticed many who weren't able to secure clinical medicine spots last year.
