Y13 GYG (Goal: UCL Architecture)

Hello!
I mainly just wanted to start a GYG so I would stop procrastinating and actually get the grades I want. I think I’ll just treat this as maybe a daily tracker and hopefully make this into a habit, even though I suck at following habits, so fingers crossed this works.

Goal: UCL Architecture, please feel free to reach out if you’re aiming the same or have achieved this

A-Levels: Maths, Physics, Art

Predicted grades: A*A*A

GCSE Grades: 998888777666

In terms of uni application, I think I’m pretty much set for everything. I’ve just got to finish up the book I’m reading by Friday so I can add it into and complete my personal statement. Then all that’s left would be compiling my portfolio and preparing for interviews. But I think I can start preparing for interviews once I submit my application right? Since I don’t think there’s a guarantee I’ll get one, I’ve heard most of them are in April and there probably isn’t much to prepare for (???) So that just leaves the portfolio. I think I’ll just use A-Level work but I don’t really know because I don’t have much 3D work.

Night of 29 Oct
Completed most tasks I wanted to today. Some need to be caught up tomorrow. I need to start to stick back to daily habits like doing Anki everyday.
I think this GYG working well and useful because I wouldn’t have completed these tasks today otherwise. Hopefully I can stick to this though, I shouldn’t be content after just day 1.

Todo Tomorrow:
Anki flashcards
Statistics Exercise 3D
Finish reading DOET

Todo in the future:
🚨Complete Personal Statement 5th Draft (by Friday)
🚨Complete photoshoot (by Sunday)
General physics revision
Compile and complete portfolio

Morning of 31 Oct
I didn’t really do much yesterday, mainly just watched TV the whole day. It’s the last weekday of the half term so I better finish everything today. Maybe like my tutor suggested I can add the book in my personal statement without actually finishing it.

Todo Today:
Anki flashcards
Personal Statement 5th draft
Photoshoot

Todo in the future:
General physics revision
Compile and complete portfolio

Completed today’s Anki flashcards

Also wanted to add that I’m about to make a purchase that’s not very necessary and it’s expensive, so I’ll probably need to keep my spendings low for the next month. Maybe afterwards, between Christmas and Summer I should refrain from spending money there.

Completed personal statement 5th draft.

I need my mom for the photoshoot but she’s busy right now so I think maybe I can see how I can organise my physics revision now? Since right now I don’t really have a plan for it.

Ok I’m going to admit this, this todo list thing is totally not working. Ever since I came back from the holidays and back to school it’s been lying on bed or scrolling Instagram whenever I can… I knew I shouldn’t be content with this gyg thing after day 1 bc I knew I’ll turn out like this after a week 😭😭Like I’m coming back to this very 2 days and basically copy and pasting the todo lists and doing nothing 😭 I think it’s mainly bc the 5 topics a week of physics revision is so intimidating I don’t even want to start it, but then I got January mocks soon so it’s the only way I can catch up with year 1 stuff ;-;;;;; Though either way this is clearly not working so I think I’m going to have to rethink my todo lists
