Nope, but now that the winter break is done, I hope something happens this week or the next.

I applied for the course too, by the December 2nd deadline. I'm a little worried because I looked through last year's thread and saw that they received offers extremely late, around the back end of March or so. I hope they're much more prompt this time, especially given that they say they are likely to respond 8 weeks after application submission.

Mid January Update: Invited for an Interview with the supervisor I mentioned in the MPhil research proposal.

Does it say "informal interview"? I got invited to one by the director of the department today.

So, my potential supervisor in Cambridge just emailed about the interview. It didn’t come from the department or Cambridge postgraduate office. I’m guessing it’s informal in this case? Not sure. I emailed them back asking for the specifics, will update when I get a response.

Similar for me, the director emailed me and stated that it's an "informal interview to discuss my application further."

What is your topic btw if you don’t mind?

I am working on the histories of nonhumans in urban spaces.

I have to admit, I‘m not sure what that means tbh. Is it like stray dogs and such? Like, animals in cities.
Btw for the interview it’ll be about our application and mainly about the research proposal. It’ll be brief. That’s what they said in the email reply today.

Yeah, mainly animals and insects in cities and the way that they shape the space.

The status changed to decision pending yesterday. Interview was also very positive imo.
