i apologise for making a third gyg!

but if you've been following, i've not been posting

i prepped everything, i just haven't posted.

and i have discovered why:
some days I don't do anything academic and I'm ashamed of it, so I lose the habit

now, I made up my mind, I WILL post every single day (unless I've given prior notice) about what I've done

whether i've done anything academic or not, i will tell you

i want to be real, i want to be me!

i have 190 days until my first exam

i want to look back on this on results day and go: these 190 days i put my all, i did this specifically

my interests and things you may catch me do on posts if you're with long enough:

my subjects for ref:

aiming for all 9s

wish me luck ❤️ i wish you all luck!

Spanish Photo Cards & Role Play Revision

What subject was the Seneca homework on, if I may ask? How are you finding the Spanish photocards and roleplays? I'm alright with the photocards, but the roleplays just seem so unnatural...
Good luck with your blog (and GCSE's of course!)

How are you feeling?

Q1 (Seneca) Of course! It was biology, mainly focused on cell division and organisation.
Q2 (Speaking)

Photocards - the photo cards are alright as long as you use PALM. People, Action, Location, Mood.
People - Roughly discuss what each individual is like, as in eyes, what they are wearing
Action - Roughly talk about what the group is doing, as well as individuals, for example Las chicas están bailando, y la chica de la derecha está escuchando música
Location - Roughly talk about where they are, e.g. en una casa
Mood - Roughly mention what they are feeling
You need to talk about the above between two photocards for 1.5 minutes (and they don't have to be equal). Therefore, you don't have to talk about all of PALM, just enough for both to total 1.5 minutes in discussion

Roleplays - I agree, they can be extremely unnatural. You're staged to say something.
However, the key is as long as you mention 1/2 details (it depends on what's asked in the question) and you use a verb that's correctly conjugated (tip: use easy ones such as fui instead of conjugating into the past if you prefer because that way you won't make an error). It doesn't even matter if you make another error, as long as your verb and details are correctly formed and put into a sentence.

Awesome! For me, I've got Mitosis but I think I could use studying Meiosis again.

Thank you for the advice with the photocards and roleplay! My teacher uses a version of PALM called PALMA - it's exactly what you described, but the second A is for Atmosphere (so weather, or if the card is inside, talk about Another Detail).

For roleplays, it feels so strange as, in the rest of the exams, they want you to write as complex as you can in order to achieve the highest marks - and then in the roleplay, all they want is Mi hermano y yo fuimos al gimnasio grande en nuestra cuidad. But nonetheless, I suppose that makes it easier(?). That's a good piece of advice to use a simple verb if the question allows it, so thank you!

What's your favourite exam paper in Spanish? Listening, reading, writing or speaking?

Ahhh! Fair enough! Yeah, mitosis is definitely harder, I'm with you on that! 🙂

Ahh, that's interesting, thank you for that! 🙂

Of course, in a way I agree - it is easier to gain full marks, but its completely contradictory

I must say reading or listening ☹️ what about yourself?

My favourite is probably reading, mainly because I find it slightly easier than listening and the mark schemes are really easy to understand. How is your studying doing so far?

Oooo! To be honest, imo, it's the best topic in the whole of chemistry, so easy, so fun, so therapeutic. I also love chemical analysis which is SOOO good and easy as well, a whole long unit on chromatography. ooooo, good luck for drama!
