Best cafes in Kingston

Completely my opinion and preference but maybe this will give you some good food recommendations and tasty treats in Kingston.

Number one for me and my flat mates is Mimosa, a Portuguese café right near Megans and Poor boys just off Kingston market. It's run by the loveliest Portuguese man and his daughter, if you speak the language go down and have a chat with him as he loves getting to speak Portuguese with people. The coffee is the best you’ll have in Kingston, very rich and authentic. His cake selection is crazy and very delicious, and the pastries are my absolute favorites. The vibe of the café is quite rustic and old-fashioned with a big wooden cart in the middle full of beautiful sardine tins to buy, and the wooden shelves across the walls are full of wine bottles from all over the world ready to buy as well.

My second favorite café in Kingston is Coin de Paris, not too far from Kingston train station. Again, it is run by such a lovely man, and the menu is great for brunch or a sweet treat. I love getting the chicken wrap from here, but the absolute best thing on the menu in my opinion is the almond croissant. If you order this, make sure he gives you a dollop of fresh cream with it and thank me later.

I don’t normally recommend chain cafes, but Ole & Steen has lovely pastries and whenever I’ve gone on a Friday evening, they’ve given me another pastry for free. This Danish café is very popular with mums and Tots, so I don’t recommend going in the day when it's busy. It’s right near Kingston market as well so if you’re out and about it’s great to pop in.

What cafes are your favorites in Kingston and what do you order?
