Chances of getting into LSE

Hi so my GCSE grades were kind of bad- 8877776666 and London School of Economics states that they look at the full gcse profile… if I do well in my A levels (maths, further maths, geography, psychology) as in getting A*s and As do you reckon I have a good chance of getting in or am I finished? Starting to lose hope

Which degree subject?

Are they IGCSEs? Because IGCSEs are harder than GCSEs.

hi! i’m not toooooo set right now but mainly thinking geography/geography with econ, if not then psychology. would’ve done maths or finance but i’ve heard that applying for an easier course (well, a less competitive one) is easier to get into than a harder course at a good uni

Geography at Oxford or Cambridge as well as UCL, KCL, Durham, Warwick, York, Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh and Nottingham are also great choices. 🙂

Unfortunately, yes you are. Even if you do get A* predicted as A-level grades, GCSEs were the recent exam point for legitimate scores therefore this is not good for you unless you sit AS levels. To be honest, even the supposedly 'easier' courses at LSE/higher offer rate like geography, many applicants who get offers will still have many 9s and 8s, predicted A*s, a great PS, and a bunch of competitions to a high degree. Maybe look at Manchester/Birmingham/Bath. Hope this helps:smile:

So, obviously it will be easier to get an offer for a supposedly 'mickey-mouse degree' such as geography. However, even at top universities, you will require top GCSE grades and top predicted grades and more. However, think about the career prospects as well, where is a geography degree going to take you.

KCL is A*AA and requires the LNAT at 30 and above. So, not a chance.

Similarly Leeds is AAA.

Lastly, Bath does not offer a LLB degree. ☹️

SOAS, City St. George's, RHUL, Surrey, Sussex, Lancaster, York and Southampton.

By all means resit and when you achieve an 8 or 9 it will boost your UCAS applications. 1000s of candidates resit Maths and English Language every year. 🙂
