Cambridge MML 2026 applicants

Hey everyone! I don't think I've seen many people on here applying for MML, so I'm making this post for us to have somewhere to talk about our application process/interview. I'm applying for Spanish and French (both post A-level) at Murray Edwards College.

Which languages are you guys applying for, and which colleges? How are you guys feeling about the entrance exam? (I did a past paper on cyborgs and it was really...interesting). Looking forward to seeing your replies!

That's so cool! The library at Queens is absolutely gorgeous. Have you done any interview/entrance exam prep? There really aren't that many resources for revising the exam which makes it a little bit harder... I haven't done much yet. It's great to see another MML applicant on here!!

I've started prep for the interview and exam - section A is fine but I'm finding writing section B in only 20mins quite difficult tbh!

SAME! It's taking me back to GCSE English language lol. Annotating in timed conditions is always stressful,, and I'm scared there will be key vocab that I won't know too.

What kind of also is confusing me is how online it says that the exam will take place on Nov 19, so do you think that means that we will know if we'll be getting an interview definitely before then, or is that a date the exam will be around?

The vocab concern is so realllll!

Hopefully we'll know about an interview at least a few days before the exam so we are aware of the time and logistics of the exam, like arranging time off lessons etc beforehand

Have you received any offers yet? 🙂

Has anyone received an interview offer yet?? I'm applying for HML and I haven't received much information, I'm concerned that the assessment is in a week and I haven't heard back from anyone..

Nope - I haven't seen anyone online (on the sixth form subreddit) getting offers for languages yet, so I assume it's going to be in the next couple of days. And SAME!! I am also concerned about the assessment being so soon and not having the info/confirmation. You're def not alone, I've been stressing over this for ages.

Hi does anyone know how the admissions test actually works for MML - are we answering online with the test and how do we submit it. Can we print out the passage? I don't have any of this information so wondered if you do? I am applying for French and Spanish

Hey I've applied for Spanish and French too! I'm pretty sure it would be a document which they will email us for us to access online, but I'm think I've seen somewhere that you can use that 15 minutes between being sent the doc to starting the paper to print it (NOT SURE THOUGH!). I don't think I'm going to print it as my printer is a bit dodgy and I can't trust it to function properly and potentially waste assessment time. If you are hoping to, maybe asking them via email would give you the definitive reply. I'm pretty sure most people (unless you do assessments on a laptop) do it on paper and then we scan the paper and send our work through a link which we will be sent once entering the zoom meeting. We cannot leave the meeting until it has been sent and it is received by the college. I got all this info from the email they sent us after the interview invite - you should have this too! If not lmk and I can send the instructions to you from the email.
