Revoking Adobe Access for students.

My university is going to revoke adobe access for students not on campus. This is a big issue as in my course we literally live, breath and eat Adobe products. Not to mention that there are either not enough computers on campus. This is one of the many ways my university is slowly depleting their students budgets as to pay for an Adobe student licence it will cost £20 a month which simply isn't feasible given the other things our course requires us to purchase. So I'm wondering if other universities are doing a similar thing. Moreover I'm wondering how to make a change, as this just simply isn't acceptable.

Given it's probably going to be unlikely to get them to reconsider, advocating for access to a remote desktop where you can continue to use the software is probably your best bet

Hey @Charlotteccs,

Have you spoken to your course leader or head of faculty about this? If your course is heavily dependent on Adobe products, the best people to advocate on your behalf are senior members of staff who can argue it's a necessary course expense. Has a different software been proposed/offered in place of the Adobe products for off-campus students?

As mentioned above, advocating for a remote desktop may also be worthwhile. Speak to other students in your faculty about arranging a petition against the changes and reach out to the students' union to see what steps to take next.

Best of luck,
Eve (Kingston Rep).
