Scottish graduate considering postgraduate courses in England.

Hi!

I’m a bit lost and this seems like the right place to ask. I have just graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, I would love to do a masters course but so far, none of the postgraduate courses in Scotland I’ve looked at are really for me. I have seen some interesting courses in England around mental health, clinical psychology, etc. all areas I am very interested in.

I suppose I’m just looking for some advice from anyone who has moved to England to study a course? Do I have to apply for a tuition fee loan through SAAS, and is this guaranteed despite the course being taught in England?

Here’s what’s convincing me to do it:

1. I studied at home and did not apply for any loans from SAAS, so I have no debts. If I want to do postgrad, I have to move away from home regardless and would be applying for living cost loans. Yes, this would be more expensive in England considering tuition fees but I would rather do a course I believe I would enjoy more.

2. I would be living with my long-term boyfriend if I were to study in England, so I would have some support from him as well.

3. Better job opportunities compared to back home, I suppose. There are no postgrad opportunities nearby and barely any job opportunities, even entry level.

If you read all that and have any advice for me, thank you so much!
