Professional Doctor in Criminology

Hello. I have completed masters in criminology this year and thinking about applying for Professional Doctorate criminology course next year. Is anyone studying/studied Prof Doc in criminology or social sciences? What it's like? How Prof Doc is different to PhD in Criminology? Any advice where to start? Thank you!

Usually professional doctorates are aimed at people with a high level of work related experience in the area of study, whereas normal PhDs are aimed at people with a more academic background (e.g. masters, sometimes just undergrad, with no focus on employment experience)
