Mainly just a lot of practice questions and then getting them marked by my teacher who then set me specific targets for my next essay. For Lit though, I made a quote bank on flashcards with the quote on one side and then some analysis on the other. I picked quotes that I could use across a range of essay questions so when you're picking yours make sure you cover all bases, they're versatile, and short enough so you can remember! For my texts I also made context flashcards and theme flaschards with mini essay plans for each theme (i made around 12 for themes and just said what three points I would talk about and the context that linked to each point). I also wrote out an intro and conc that I got marked by my teacher that I could just change slightly for whatever theme I was given. For Lang, I reannotated my non-fic anothology without notes and then filled in the gaps and repeated the process until I knew all of them (but tbh I didn't revise language loads)

I did about 3-4 hours a day and started in Easter holidays but some people I knew were doing even 8 hours so it's really up to you how much you think you need to do. Like, for maths I was struggling a bit so I started in the summer after y10 but not a lot and only going over the things I found difficult in y10. The main thing I found really effective with revision is just doing a bunch of past papers and looking at mark schemes which is why I think I was able to revise less than other people who were using flashcards and things like that more (not saying they aren't useful but I found past papers or past paper questions more helpful)

is there a reason that people who usually get revise a lot to get all 9s, end up getting an 8 in ocr computer science? I always get confused when I see this because I got a 9 in ocr cs but I only got 8s and 7s in the other exams (which I deserved because I didn't revise, but I am resitting some of the subjects and I will revise this time) but I have no idea how I went from 6s in my mocks that I cheated in, to a 9 in the actual exam for computer science because everyone that I know who got all 9s ended up getting an 8 or less in computer science, is it just because ocr sucks or what

for me i got an 8 in my mocks also so it wasn't that i went down a grade, but i think it happens because the mark schemes can be quite tricky, and my teachers said this was especially for ocr (obvi i can't comment on other exam boards) so maybe that's why? also i think the 2025 paper for ocr comp sci was quite nice compared to some older ones but i just didn't put tons of effort in which is why i think i got an 8 not a 9!

would you mind sharing some revision recourses or any notes you have for things fall apart?

How did u revise for computer science and is there any websites you would recommend? I’m really struggling with remembering the FDE cycle specifics and stuff like secondary storage devices and the different things to do with networks so do u have any advice of that?

i made most of my annotations and notes in my book but I would be happy to send you some pictures of those and some of my past essays and flashcards! I can upload them to my google drive and send you the link in DMs if that works? Glad to help

https://adacomputerscience.org is pretty good and my school also gave us smart revise. also isaac computer science

@GCSEComputerScienceTutor on youtube and he has a website and makes free predicted papers and stuff which were actually quite helpful. Also instead of making flashcards, just find some online - i found a really good account on knowt which made them for every topic.

ibr i didn't revise too much for comp sci but i used all the above things
