Sorry for so many questions!

Hi!
Congratulations on your GCSE results, that's amazing!
I'm taking Latin OCR GCSE as well, however I tend to be confused with 8 marker style-focused questions. I understand how to use literary devices to analyse, and how to translate from the Latin verse into English, but I'm unsure about how best to structure my answers.
I'd really appreciate any advice, if you can

I was also fine with coding so I just went through all the past papers, looking closely at the mark schemes and updating notes using the mark scheme. They often repeat (almost identically) questions, so it really helps if you get familiar with the questions. Honestly this goes for any subject too, especially sciences.
CSBnewbs and BBC bitesize are both good if you want notes. Craig and Dave have good YouTube videos for basic info on the coding paper. With CGP, make sure you double check the spec and the other sources because it isn't always the most accurate.

To be perfectly honest, I didn't really know how to structure my answers either. If you look at the example past answers from examiner's reports, there's no clear structure for any question. I tried to use the mark scheme because it shows you how many marks out of the 8, or 10 etc are for what specifically, so you know which to focus on. Generally applying PETAL -Point, evidence, translation, analysis, link, to each point you make helps.
I personally would focus on maximising your marks for language because marks on that paper are indisputable compared to the essay questions on the other paper, and most people do badly on language so if you do well on that you'll be way above the grade boundaries.

I started revising for my GCSEs the last week of Easter holidays. My study leave started after my first exam. During study leave, I was revising ~9 hours a day, ~7 hours if I had an exam that day, ~4 hours if I had two exams that day. Some days were intense, with 11 hours though 😓

hey x yk with biology the mark scheme is so specific for my board (ocr) and i can't seem to get good in practical questions and apply my knowledge

For Edexcel at least, whilst the mark schemes are really specific and you should do your best to adhere to them, examiners usually understand the subject and so minor deviations in language are fine. It's always better to mark yourself harshly using the mark scheme than to be way too generous as it sets up your expectations better.
And you're just going to have to do lots of practice questions. Make sure you go over the ones you do wrong. You can make a booklet of ones you do wrong to reattempt.

To say the truth I’m in year 10 and my notes are quite bad, do you have any other recommendations please?

There are loads of resources online e.g. BBC bitesize, pmt.

Hi, Thanks for the reply and the advice. I think past papers will help me a lot in terms of seeing what coding questions will come up and how to answer other questions, I sometimes use craig and dave too, but for CGP the revision guide I am using is the ocr one so hopefully its okay and I will double check with the spec.
