A levels - Maths, Buisness, Psychology, English

Hi, I am currently in year 12 doing the a levels above. I am currently doing 4 but will be dropping either english or psychology. At university, i would like to do finance/economics.

Would i be able to do this with Maths, buisness, english/psychology. Or would i be at a disadvantage because i do not do economics a level.

I am also planning to do a lot of co curricular, such as work experience and economics society at school.

You will not be at a disadvantage for not doing econ
Some unis however might think that business is not a competitive subject so your application could be less competitive than someone doing for example maths, psych and English instead of 3 including business
For econ the subject you need is maths, further maths is preferred by many top unis
Wider reading is a great addition to your ps!

Hi, thank you for your response. I am probably going to do maths, buisness, english. I forgot to mention that i want to applyh for unis like baths, nottingham, brsitol etc. If i get an a star in maths and do well in my other 2, will i have a good chance of getting an offer.

Hi could I ask what you mean by business not being a competitive enough subject. I do English literature, psychology and business + an EPQ and want to apply to HSPS at Cambridge. Are they less likely to accept me just because of a subject?
Sorry I know this forum isn’t about this I just wanted to ask

Some unis see business as non-preferred, for example LSE. I do not know if this is the case for the course you have mentioned for specifically, it might be worth contacting their admissions team and asking if youre unsure. Ive had a brief look at their requirements and from what i can see it wont make you less competitive. If economics wasn’t offered by your college and that was what made you go for business (similar content, sometimes considered less academic) instead of econ this could be mentioned in your reference if youre concerned about this.

Hi, i think that they mean that it would be less competitive than doing economics - if you would like to go into a econ degree.
