Making new UCAS application in gap year after already accepting offer for deffered en

Hi guys I'm currently in my gap year. I have accepted a place to study criminology at durham in 2026. However since then I have changed my mind and want to do to a different uni and study a different course. How do I do this. Do I need to make a new UCAS account. Can I still keep my offer from Durham or do I have to reject it. How do I apply for these new uni's. Is it even possible to apply by myself and not thru my school. Thanks so much

You can apply again using the same account, but not whilst you hold your existing place. As it's from last cycle, you can't reject it yourself you need to ask the uni to release you.

You can either apply independently, or ask your old school if you can use their buzzword again.

If your results are fairly recent they should still be verified by UCAS, in which case your offer is likely to be unconditional from the outset. If not, you'll be sent instructions on how to verify them and make your offer unconditional ahead of results day.
