Bad digital footprint?

I am in yr11, doing GCSEs and am planning to go to UCL for law. I have heard that it's really important for a lawyer to have a good digital footprint and I'm low key panicked. I have a meme account on Instagram were i post some pretty stupid stuff. Will my future uni/employers care/ know??/

It's highly unlikely that Uni admissions officers will trawl social media when considering your application, particularly if you post under a pseudonym. The same goes for law firm HR teams, although they may undertake some due diligence if you're through to a shortlist. There is, however, a risk that your material will be found: if it's just silly material, then it won't be an issue. If it's anything more (borderline or actual illegal content, race-related, anything to the extremes of political thought) then that could be problematic. Given the career route you want to follow, think carefully before you post anything: if it might offend or raise eyebrows amongst a very conservative profession then don't post it.
