I missed the deadline for medicine

Is there any way for me to still do Medicine, I know that I can take a gap year but im still worried about taking it. I know that clearings existing but I dont know if I can apply to the universities I want with it as they vary year to year on whether or not they offer them. I also know that some courses allow me to get into medicine eventually but I dont know which courses allow me to do that. Is taking a gap year a good idea and do many people get into medicine with it?

The gap year is absolutely fine, as long as you get a minimum of AAA and a good UCAT score in 2026. If you don't have 'work experience', you could use the gap year to get some, e.g., volunteering, work experience placements, paid jobs, etc.

If you post your GCSE grades and A-level predictions, people will be able to advise on medicine chances.

There is also nothing to stop you now applying for 5 non-Med courses, and waiting until August before you decide what to do - ie. go to your Firm choice, or dump that and apply to Med next year if your grades make that a realistic option.

Its very rare for Med places to be in Clearing so relying on that isn't a sensible strategy.
