SFE ordinary residence

I've been living in England for 2 years but SFE says I'm not entitled to funding and have to go through SAAS. I moved permanently, not for educational purposes. I've been living in England for 2 years now and have no intentions of returning to Scotland. SAAS won't fund me because they say I'm not resident in Scotland anymore. How can I get SFE to reassess my residency status?

Hi TrigFunction,

Are you a returning student or is this your first year application?

Thanks, Clare

Hi Clare,

I studied for my undergraduate in Scotland and received SAAS funding but I finished in 2020. This is my first year of graduate entry medicine at the University of Nottingham

Thanks for confirming all of this. Normally, if you live permanently in England then applying to ourselves sounds correct.

From what you've said you've been living in England for the past two years, so I'm not sure why we're asking you to apply to SAAS instead.

Can you please login to your account (between 8am and 7pm) and send us a live chat? It would be best to access your account so we can check this.

Thanks, Graeme
