Year 13 mocks help / Warwick Uni

Okay so I'm currently in year 13 and am starting revision for my A-levels as I have mocks in 2 weeks. I feel so behind as I have only just started revising and locking in properly. Any tips or suggestions for how I should study/or like a schedule? I would love to go to Warwick uni but I feel like I haven't put enough effort in. Do they only look at predicted grades?

Hi there,

First of all, don’t panic, feeling behind before mocks is really common, and it’s great that you’re getting focused now. Mocks are important, but they’re not the be-all and end-all. Your teachers may look at your mocks alongside other assessments when deciding your predicted grades, and your UCAS grades may be slightly higher than what you achieve in your mocks.

Even if your UCAS predicted grades don’t exactly match Warwick’s typical offer, you could still receive a conditional offer which means if you hit the required grades in your final exams, you can secure your place.

For revision with two weeks to go: focus on past papers and exam technique (try and learn how mark schemes are typically structured). Prioritise your weakest topics first, then the areas that come up frequently in previous papers.

Best wishes,

Reply is a bit late, but for the real exams I'd suggest getting the Flora app as that really helped me concentrate for a set period of time. It's an app where you set a timer for a certain period of time (e.g. 1 hour30) and you can't use ur phone during that time. My friends and I followed each other on the app and would compete for the most amount of cumulative time studied. Also I would study in empty classrooms sometimes as that would help me more than studying in the common room, cause even if the common room was quiet, I'd get distracted simply by people just being there.
Hope that helps
