Scriptwriting Masters at the UEA
I have just been accepted onto the UEA's creative scriptwriting course and was wondering if I'm going to be quite young compared to other students on the course as I heard it is a mature audience. for context I am 22 and finish my postgrad in philosophy this year.

First off, huge congratulations on getting into the Scriptwriting MA at UEA!!
You definitely won’t be out of place at 22. The cohort tends to be a real mix, some people come straight from undergrad, others are returning to study after time in industry or teaching, and a few are career changers. That diversity is actually what makes the discussions and workshops so rich.
UEA’s creative community is also very social and supportive, so you’ll find it easy to connect with people through the MA network, open mic nights, and FilmSoc events.

Hi there!
I wouldn’t worry about being 22 at all — you definitely won’t feel out of place. I also take scriptwriting modules at UEA, and the classes are a real mix of ages and backgrounds. There are students who’ve come straight from undergrad, but also some much older people (I even have a lovely older gentleman in my class!).
Everyone’s treated equally, and the learning environment is really open and welcoming. The tutors are very supportive and approachable, and the other students are friendly and collaborative — you’ll fit right in. 😊
