If it’s for a personal statement for a UK uni, don’t waste any space on why the UK (“it’s safe”, “higher education is respected and good value”, “it’s the centre of industry X”), admissions staff will have seen all this twaddle hundreds of times before and it’s meaningless. You need to be speaking throughout about your motivation and suitability for the subject at hand.

“Why this uni” would only be relevant for a postgrad course. I can’t tell you why that uni, only you know your motivations for applying!
