Passport sent to wrong address

I know that this is quite late but my passport is meant to be being sent back to me today and when I checked the tracking number, the address it's being sent to is not the address that I live at now. Is there any way for SFE to redirect the letter? I was also just asked to send a hand written letter about where I've lived for the past few years and then upload it to my account. Do I have to actually send this physical letter or can I just upload it?

Hi there, written residency evidence can be uploaded via the online account for review. As to the passport return is this currently within the Royal Mail network at present?

Okay thank you. Yes, it is currently at the Manchester Central delivery office

Hi again, unfortunately as it is with Royal Mail's network we would not be to do anything at present. Normally if the returned evidence is unable to be delivered, this would be returned back to us by Royal Mail and correspondence would be issued to yourself to request to update your delivery address and the evidence can be reposted again. You could contact the Post Office to see if they are able to assist with a redirect, however if this is not possible, then it would be the address update and redelivery process as previously advised.
