Radiography career prospects. Help!

I am currently considering between applying to Radiography and Tech based courses for the 2026 intake. I do really love the sciences and would love to do Radiography for my undergraduate it would be a great foundation for other careers as well such as medicine. However I am seeing that finding a job with the NHS later might be difficult with budgeting problems and all the recent problems plaguing the NHS. Working private is fine yes, I have no qualms with that but part of the point of doing an allied health course is the guaranteed employment because people will always require health services. Which is a shame because I do really like all the different specialties you can further get into however if employment is not good then it simply isn't worth getting into for me. I do love the health sciences but I am flexible person so I will pivot.

I have searched online but I can't seem to find great info. Can anyone please shed some light on career prospects such as finding a job especially in London and even abroad.

Radiography is a major shortage area. Look at NHS for bursary - it’s on the list

Thanks for the response!

I am aware that radiography is among those professions in the NHS where there is a major shortage. However much the shortage is I was enquiring about job availability. Demand is high yes but to clarify in my question the number of job openings is what I was specifically interested in.

Try NHS trac (job site) and Indeed to look. Filter by Band 5 (pay)
