If you are both creative but want to do a degree in something technical. There are lots of degrees that allow you to use both skills. Here are some at Birmingham City University:


1. Game Design

Creative focus: Narrative, visual design, gameplay mechanics
Technical focus: Game engines, scripting, systems design


2. Digital Animation

Creative focus: Storyboarding, character development, visual storytelling
Technical focus: Maya, Blender, motion capture, rendering


3. Architecture

Creative focus: Conceptual design, visual communication, model-making
Technical focus: Structural understanding, digital modelling, sustainable systems


4. Music Technology

Creative focus: Composition, sound design, mixing
Technical focus: Acoustics, audio hardware, DAWs (like Logic, Pro Tools)


5. Product Design

Creative focus: Concept development, aesthetics, branding
Technical focus: CAD, rapid prototyping, materials science


6. Artificial Intelligence

Creative focus: Human‑computer interaction, project design, ethics and societal impact
Technical focus: In-depth training in generative AI, NLP (natural language processing), computer vision, cloud deployment

Technical focus: Digital fashion, materials tech, industry software
