Compare Southampton, Manchester and Exeter for law
Hi!!
I know Southampton, Manchester, all have great reputations academically, but I just wanted to throw another option into the mix that a lot of people don’t always consider.

Have you looked at The University of Law?

I’m a current student there, and what really sets ULaw apart is how practical and career-focused the courses are. All our lecturers have practiced or are experienced in their profession, so everything is taught with the real world in mind, not just theory for the sake of exams. There’s a huge emphasis on employability, networking, and actually preparing you for the SQE and legal practice or whatever else you may be doing!

A few things people tend to like about ULaw that are different from traditional unis:

Small class sizes, so you get proper support and your tutors actually know you

Strong links with law firms, chambers & employers, loads of workshops, careers events, and pro bono opportunities

Multiple campuses & flexibility (online, face-to-face, part-time).

If you’re interested in a more career-driven, practical route into legal practice, ULaw is worth a look. A lot of students don’t realise how well-respected it is within the legal sector until they start researching pathways to qualification.

Just thought I’d mention it as another option to compare, it really depends on what kind of student experience you’re looking for and whether you prefer theory or more hands-on legal training.

Happy to answer questions if you want a student’s perspective & if you want to visit one of our campuses, check out our open days!
