Studying nursing as a mature student

Hi, I am 53 and work in healthcare already. I am considering studying nursing (2-year pre-reg MSc) to extend my scope of practice. I am a bit worried about the workload of studying full-time, with a family (and a side job), and particularly about the placements with 12-hour shifts. Has anyone who is a similar age done this? How did you find it?
My aim is not to work in hospitals afterwards, but to gain some practice, do the V300 and work at a GP or private practice.

Can't you get job as a healthcare assistant in a hospital that offers their staff the opportunity to do a nurce degree apprenticeship?

Hello,

I am personally doing the BSc adult nursing but my fellow classmates who do the MSc usually have a very busy work and study schedule. When we're on placement, BSc students don't need to attend university but MSc students still attend university in some days (while they're on placement). I am not sure how achievable that is depending on people's personal responsibilities but it's definitely a time-demanding route to nursing. That being said, it is only two year long and then you're qualified. There's also other routes like BSc which is more do-able, and nursing apprenticeships where you train and get paid.

All the best
