Contextual offers at Scottish unis

Hello guys. My situation is a bit complicated. I moved to the uk 2023 ( I’m British citizens but have been living abroad), went to a Scottish six forms high school in the fifth year, which means I lost some chances to gain qualification. ( usually people do national 5s in fourth year but since I came here late so I only managed 2 national 5s and 1 Higher in fifth year 🙃)

Finally this year I got my result: A for Higher politics,

B for Higher maths (redo it, last year was D)

B for Higher business,

B for higher English,

NPA criminology Pass. And this year I’m taking a gap year and doing Advance Higher Mandarin, for which I’m predicted an A for it. I’m pretty sure I’m eligible for a contextual offer. For example,Edinburgh shows their minimum requirement is ABBB ( I’ve already met this requirement) and Glasgow shows their minimum requirements is ABBBB (I will meet this in 2026 as my Adv higher mandarin will get an A)

So, my question is :should I apply Uni of Edinburgh and Glasgow, even tho I knew I’m eligible for contextual offer but still, they are really competitive uni, so how likely am I to get the conditional offer?

Additionally, Will they notice that I entered this education system late? As a result, will I receive preferential treatment because of this?
Hello there, I changed your thread title to better reflect your question.

I mean, you get to apply to five options so in principle it's not a bad idea to apply to one of them (or both, but obviously that's a risky strategy). Would potentially be worth checking what your status is in Scotland - are you an international student there, a Scottish student or a Rest of UK student? Basically, due to the caps on the different types of students, you're not necessarily facing the same competition as an international or RUK student, and so this will be worth considering.

You won't receive any preferential treatment for entering the educational system late.
