Cambridge written work

Basically i applied for history at cambridge but for my written work i used an interpretations and a source essay - which i was told is not entirely optimal after i submitted it and the deadline has already passed for me to change it, im quite worried and i want to see other people's opinions on this

Who told you it wasn't entirely optimal?

Seems to be a mixed view across colleges but doesn’t look like it’s a deal breaker e.g.

Homerton says: “Submit two recent, preferably marked, essays (we prefer not to receive source-based answers but if you are sending this type of work be sure also to send the sources on which the answers are based).”

Whereas Christ’s says “If you are sending an essay based on source interpretation please ensure that you enclose a copy of the sources discussed in the essay at the end of the pdf. Otherwise it is very difficult for us to make a judgement on the piece submitted.”

Hi! I'm a first year history student at cambridge. One of my pieces of written work was a response to a source, it was absolutely fine. Just make sure you've attached it! I didn't even consider the fact that they might not like it. Ensure you know all about the source and your response, as there is no point worrying about it now! Good luck!
