Science

Please tell me how to revise for science, I left everything late for revision and the actual gcse is about 4 months time. I get 3s and I need 6 minimum. I’ll put in the time but idk how to revise for the science’s efficiently

Hi @AayushF

I hope you are well! I remember hating revision for Science, I struggled with the subjects and therefore had no motivation to get the work done for it. This was until someone suggested using past papers as a form of revision! I highly recommend past papers to anyone that says they are struggling with revision as they are such a good way to practice!

If you are able to get hold of some past papers, whether from a teacher or a peer that might know where to find some then I advise going through them and answering the questions as best as you can. Once you've answered the questions you can use the mark scheme to go through your answers and see what you have got correct and what areas you need to focus your revision on more! Past papers also help you understand the layout of the actual exams better and if you use the mark scheme then you realise the type of things that the examiners are looking for which definitely benefits you!

I hope this response has helped and I hope using past papers benefits you as much as it benefited me when I was revising! Let me know if you have any other questions, I am more than happy to help!

Thanks, Matt 🙂

I would have a chat with your teachers after class and go through your past exams highlighting the topics you frequently get wrong. This will give you some tailored advice and structure on what you need to be focusing on in your revision to see the fastest improvements. For me this was the more maths based questions and physics exams. Flashcards and colourful visual mind-maps with lots of imagery helped me as this sticks out more to your brain, but its not for everyone so try a few different techniques and see what suits you.

Hope this helps,
