The Student Room Group

my company hires ukrainians and russians

They work with each other and seem to be just fine with each other.:confused:

I was in a zoom meeting and before the meeting starts the folks were having a banter with each other. Like completely normal human beings chatting.

What am i missing?

Probably because they're individual people, and not to blame for the problems

I can't stand Donald Trump - that doesn't mean that I pick a fight with every American at work.

What are you missing? That sensible adults are not going to blame the individuals they work with for their country's shared conflicts.

Nothing. Most people just want to live in peace.
Same with Arabs and Jews.

Both... actually.

When I was at an international convention in Italy a while ago I felt no problem working together with people from Arab countries or Muslims from Europe. One of the lecturers there was a Moroccan Muslim from Spain (I think she was from Spain because the company is from Spain... maybe she was from Italy because she spoke both Italian and Spanish fluently).
Even here most of the people I talk with are Muslim and we are fine, aren't we?

Jews are not necessarily Israeli. Israeli is a citizenship. Arab is not. It makes more sense to say Jews and Arabs because they both refer to ethnic groups.

I was referring to arab countries and israel.

as an arab from an arab country i have no problem with jews, if i did that'd be straight up racist.

but israel & zionism is an issue to me and a lot of arabs 😃
jewish is an ethnicity AND religion, muslims are a religion, arabs are an ethnicity, so there is that to consider 😃
