Architecture BA(Hons)

I’m currently thinking of applying to these unis:
Birmingham City Univeristy (BCU)
University of Greenwhich
University of Westminster
London Metropolitan University

I am going/have been to the opens days but I just wanted to see if any students who do this course or just go to the unis can tell me about them - Also I don’t seem to have a fifth choice is that bad ?

Choosing a university is a personal decision so going to open days really helps. Only you can decide which uni environment and city will suit you. You don't need to use all five choices and you can always add another choice later if you change your mind.

Hi! I’m a current student rep at London Metropolitan University, and I’m also studying my Master’s in Product Design here. If you’re thinking about applying, I’m really happy to share what the university is actually like from a student’s perspective.

One thing I always tell new applicants is that London Met is a very student-focused university. The community here is genuinely supportive lecturers, technicians, and staff are all approachable, and they go out of their way to help you succeed. Especially in design-based courses, the workshops, studios, and maker-spaces are brilliant. You get access to 3D printing, laser cutting, metal workshops, wood workshops, and specialist design labs, and the technicians are incredibly hands-on. If you’re a creative or practical learner, you’ll find that the environment really encourages experimentation and originality.

Another thing I appreciate is how diverse and inclusive the university is. There’s a huge mix of cultures, ages, backgrounds, and experiences, which makes collaboration so much richer especially in a field like product design where different perspectives matter.

London Met is also based in London, which means you’re surrounded by opportunities: exhibitions, design studios, networking events, and industry connections that you can tap into throughout your course. The careers team is active and genuinely helpful, whether it’s CV support, portfolio reviews, or finding placements.

Overall, my experience here has been very positive. The facilities, the teaching staff, and the supportive culture all make it a great university to study in London

I hope it helps !!
