Can you study abroad for a term an an ivy league?

Hi, ive been doing research for where I can study abroad next year, I was hoping to go to the USA or Canada; but more specifically im hoping to go to Brown University. Im in love with their political science department and just the whole vibe of the uni in general. I looked into my universitys (University of Aberdeen) study abroad program, but the school isn't on there. I have googled it and they said they've been known to have collaborations with study abroad before; yet im not seeing any proof of it. Maybe im reaching too far just for a study abroad program, my uni is offering Nazereth University NY, so that's always an option. I just loved the idea of going to my dream school (I couldn't study in the US as that's wayyyy to pricey) so if anyone knows any info, or has experience of doing a study abroad program and could share some advice, that would be great!

Hey @Clemmyyyyy,

It might be worthwhile reaching out to your university's Study Abroad Team (either via email or an in-person meeting if available) to see what your options are. They'll be able to provide you with a better insight on how the collaboration/partnering process works between universities and they can hopefully provide you with some advice on the overall study abroad process.

If you're keen to attend a specific university (such as Brown), it would be worth mentioning this to the team to see how feasible it would be to arrange; sometimes study abroad affiliations between universities can take a few years to set-up, so it might not be possible through the university itself and you may have to consider pursuing it privately. Nonetheless, it's definitely worth asking!

Hope this helps and best of luck,
Eve (Kingston Rep).
It's dependent on your unis partnerships. Some UK unis have bilateral agreements with some Ivy league colleges, many do not. Note that usually you will need to do it via an established bilateral agreement, as in those cases the two universities will already have an arrangement in place regarding tuition fees etc. If not then you would need to figure out how to pay the tuition fees there likely yourself. They are considerably higher than UK tuition fees.

It will depend entirely on where your Uni has partnership agreements with.
As above, talk to Aberdeen's Study Abroad team.

Hi, this is the University of Aberdeen rep account. Apologies for not getting you a response until now! As the other posters mention it would be best to get in contact with our Go Abroad Team who will be able to get you some more answers on what study abroad opportunities we can support. If you haven't already you can email [email protected] so that they can help get you an answer on this.
