Predicted grades

Hi, I'm a year 13 a level student who's currentlyooking at applying to uni, my predicted grades are currently BCC, B in psychology and C in biology and chemistry. I want to apply to university of Birmingham for psychology because it's the only universitity I truly like and they offer an undergraduate msci course. However the entry requirements Are AAB, and A*AA for the msci I was wondering if I would definitely be rejected if I apply with my predicted grades. Also, I can ask for different predictions because lots of other ppl in my school have but I feel myucasmebtor wouldn't do it plus the predictions based on current evidence are unrealistic. Any help? Thabks

C grades in two core sciences will be a major red flag to any Uni asking for AAB - realistically you are not going to get an offer. You might get an offer from BBB / 120 points Unis but even that might be a push.

Try not to worry too much!! My teachers at school say unis don’t really look at predicted grades since they really aren’t accurate. Some schools may bump up your predicted grades by 3 grades and some may not so it’s just not a fair representation if you know what I mean. Definitely still apply if that’s what u want to do! Its good to have backup options too no matter the grades:smile: all the best

Hey pookie, my predicted also weren’t amazing but I emailed my teachers saying I could submit extra work and retake old tests, as well as have a conversation about my future goals in order for them to increase my predicteds. Went from C/B predicted in chem to an A ))

thank you! see, i get your point, predicted grades arent accurate, ik other people in my year have had their predicted bumped up just by asking but that doesnt happen for me for whatever reason so im stuck with the BCC prediction, and like it just doesnt make sense anymore? idk

It'll be a rejection.

Look at accredited degrees asking for BBB.

i would say im working at my predicted grades, so b for psych, c for chem and bio, for psych though however, i think i am kind of close to an a but that only happened once, my current working grade isnt really accurate/reflective because my mental health has impacted my ability to get higher but no one really knows that, i did mention to my pasotral teacher that anxiety is affecting class test scores but yeah, most teachers probably just see it as a content/ effort issue

so, are you saying that if my predicted grades are BCC, i should be able to apply to a uni with BBB requirements?

Yes - more likely to get an offer with a good PS than the ones you mentioned.
