First year accommodation as a foundation student

I am currently at foundation year student and at the movement everyone is deciding accommodation for next year. My flatmates who I have a decent relationship with have brought up the possibility of getting a house with everyone in the flat. But as a next year will be my official first year and I will become a fresher again I am unsure if to go into halls again (Which might have to be private halls) or join them in a house. These plans are still loose but I am very unsure. As it is not guaranteed I will have good flatmates next year. Does anyone have any advice or been in a similar situation? Sorry if this was a long rant

Well, you have a decent relationship with your current flatmates so that's probably a very good sign that you will all get along next year as well. If you go into halls you might not be so lucky again, and having flatmates you don't get along can be a bit of a miserable experience. And you can still engage in freshers' week activities and stuff even when you don't live in halls, so I'd personally favour trying to find a place with your current flatmates

Hi @Daisytallulah03x

Just wanted to reassure you and agree with the other post, that from my experience I lived in halls in first year but still made friends with people who lived in private housing as they had already been there the previous year on foundation. So I definitely think you would still be able to join in with freshers activities and it would mean you have a range of friends.

Hope this helps
