I would advise against applying for LSE unless you have extenuating circumstances. A&F at LSE is competitive, with an offer rate of 13%, and LSE is known to place strong emphasis on GCSEs; most people I know who've recieved an offer from LSE either had a clean sweep or majority A*s. In addition, there is uncertainty about your predicted grades, and LSE is known to auto-reject applicants who do not meet their entry requirements. I would recommend applying for Manchester (AAA), Leeds (AAA), Southampton (AAB), or Durham (AAB). Hope this helps 🙂

Thank you so much! yes, I've put Manchester (AAA), Bristol (AAA) on the list and im thinking about Durham (AAB) for safety. Regarding my predicted grade which is likely (A*AA or A*AB) - if I were to get A*AA should I still give a shot or just not apply? I still do want to apply to LSE as it was one reason why I did a levels instead of foundation as they said I can't apply with foundation so I still kinda wanna have a shot. Apart from this, for aspiration what do you think about either KCL (A*AA), Warwick (A*AA) or Bath (A*AA / A*A*B) for A&F.

At the end of the day, the decision to apply is yours, so if you really want to go for it, give it a shot. A&F at KCL is the 2nd most competitive, behind LSE, with a 16% offer rate, so perhaps applying to both KCL and LSE at the same time would be risky. There's a 50/50 chance for Warwick, and I would still recommend applying, and a likely chance for Bath. If you're applying for Manchester, Bristol, and Durham, then I would suggest applying to either Warwick or Bath then one of the 2 London unis.

Considering your grade profile, this is a strong application, and I have almost no doubts about Manchester and Warwick. For LSE, your grade profile is what they're looking for, but they are known to place an emphasis on your personal statement, so make sure it's top-notch with a clear focus. I would say you have a decent chance for KCL; however, as it's so competitive, there's no guarantee. Nevertheless, I would definitely recommend applying to all 4 unis. Good luck!

Thanks for sharing your grades and plans! LSE A&F is definitely extremely competitive, especially for international applicants. While your predicted grades (AAA or AAB) are strong, LSE tends to favour applicants with very high GCSEs and consistent As at A-level. That said, it’s not impossible if you achieve AAA, you could still submit a strong application, especially if your personal statement and references stand out.
It’s smart that you’re applying to Manchester, Bristol, Durham, Warwick, KCL, and Bath as well. These are all excellent choices, and having a mix of aspirational and safer options is ideal. For your “aspiration” picks:

KCL (A*AA): Strong choice, competitive but achievable.

Warwick (A*AA): Similar competitiveness to KCL, solid for A&F.

Bath (AAA / AA*B): Slightly less competitive than LSE, good safety pick.

My advice: Apply to LSE if you really want to have a shot even if it’s a long shot, nothing lost by trying.
Just make sure your other applications are strong backups. Focus on a clear, compelling personal statement that highlights your interest in finance, quantitative skills, and any relevant experience.
You’re doing great by planning strategically aiming high but also keeping solid options in mind. 😊

Thank you so much for your response. I really appreciate it.
Would you recommend me to apply to Bath or Warwick if I were to put as aspirational. I researched these two unis and it says Bath has around 60% acceptance rate and Warwick only has around 20%.

For A&F at LSE, you could mention quantitative methods, as LSE's courses have a more quantitative focus. I could have a look at your PS if you don't mind (I'm already a uni student).

do you think 99999888877 and A*A*A predicted is enough for A&F at LSE, I'm at a disadvantage tho because my A-levels are maths, fm and chemistry- no essay subject😬. I'm also thinking of applying to KCL, QMUL A&F course and the pwc accountancy degree, and then my fifth im thinking st george but irdk. Any advice (& tips for a strong ps) would be very appreciated!

LSE won't outright reject you for that grade combination, and you definitely have top GCSE grades for LSE. KCL is also a good choice. For the personal statement, specifically for LSE and KCL, I would recommend a more quantitative focus and maintaining a good balance between accounting and finance. Still, they definitely don't want to see a one-sided personal statement. Hope this helps, and all the best

Thank you! Also, do you think QMUL is a good backup option or is it too risky?
