Self studying a level fm, y12.

I'm currently self studying further maths and hoping to finish content by january. I just finished a level maths and got an A* in a past paper. I'm currently on CP1 chapter 4; roots of polynomials and going to do FP1 + FP2. But I feel really slow 😭 does anyone have any tips in learning? For problem solving aswell since the textbook exercises are really trivial. (PS. I want to finish content early so im just doing questions from jan till may, yes I'm sitting it in y12)

Do you have the official endorsed textbook? I studied maths and fm over summer (mechs and stats) and haven't got below an A* in any papers, and the questions weren't that trivial, although CP1 is pretty easy. Chapter 9 will give you trouble, and some of CP2 will, but i think the only real challenges you will have will be in FP1 and 2. If you want your learning to be faster, don't do every question, only if you don't feel completely confident you know how to do it. If you want your learning to be better, just make sure you understand all of the content instead of just memorising

Why are you sitting this early? How many A levels are you doing?

Im using the edexcel maths textbook and the questions are really easily except some challenge questions, are the mixed excercises/reviews harder? Also people usually say fp2 is really easy that's why I chose it, and i dont wanna learn all of normal maths stats/mech to take fm1/fs1. alsoo im guessing chapter 9 is vectors?? i'm hearing people hate them

I couldn't sleep on the day on one of my maths exams and it caused me to get a 7 sadly, by just 2 marks. So my school won't let me take further maths internally. I'm only doing FM this year

I recommend using Dr Frost - it's free to register: https://www.drfrost.org/students

If a student who was predicted a grade 7+ just misses, do they not allow you to start FMaths on a contract?

Will they let you sit FMaths in Year12?

Sadly not, my schools really strict. I'm sitting further maths externally at another school since my school won't let me under any circumstances.
