Unis that accept ABB for English Literature at Uni

Hi, I'm applying for uni right now and need a couple more options. I currently have the predicted grades ABB as well as an A AS level. So far I'm hoping to go to Cardiff with the safety net of Lancaster and maybe Liverpool but I need a few more in between that have good courses and wondered if anyone had any suggestions

Eng Lit courses vary widely between Unis - so it isnt just as simple as selecting an 'ABB course', you need to check that the course content interests you, and that there are enough units in each year of the course to sustain that interest. What anyone else thinks is a 'good course' will not necessarily be the right course for you.

Start by looking at these - but make sure you dig deeper that just the entry grades :
English BA : University of Sussex
English Degree (Hons) | BA | University of Southampton
Comparative Literature and Culture BA | Royal Holloway, University of London
BA (Hons) English Literature 2026/27 | UEA

Hi,

If you’re thinking about studying BA (Hons) English Literature, LJMU offers a three-year course with entry requirements of BCC.

The course is taught in our award-winning department by experienced lecturers and covers a wide range of texts and genres, from the early modern period to the present day. You’ll study fiction, poetry, drama, theory, and even less traditional texts like film adaptations, popular music, and travel writing.

There are also some really exciting opportunities alongside your studies. For example, on an optional second-year module, students go on a field trip to Venice, with flights and accommodation covered. The English Work Experience module gives you the chance to try placements in teaching, charities, media, or the creative industries, working with local cultural partners like the Tate, the Everyman and Playhouse theatres, and FACT.

The university has great facilities to support your learning, from lecture and seminar spaces to 24/7 study areas and libraries. Outside of classes, Liverpool is an affordable, diverse, and vibrant city with plenty to see and do. The JMSU Student Union also runs many societies and events, so there’s plenty of opportunities to get involved.

You can find more details about the course here https://www.ljmu.ac.uk/study/courses/undergraduates/2026/36045-english-literature-ba-hons

Hope this helps,

Just wondering, are you eligible for contextual offers, and are you doing an EPQ? Sorry if I'm asking too many questions, just wanted to eliminate any uncertainties.
