I'd say you have pretty good chances since your best 8 are mostly 9s. They'll probably let you study maths and FM (idk anyone who's gone there after doing FM at GCSEs but I think the 7 and the fact that your school let you sit the exam reflect your abilities, especially since I think the requirement to take FM is just a 9 in maths.

Physics is 9 so thats fine.

For econ, you meet the requirements but it would be preferable if you could boost your English grades as much as possible ofc.
Btw, the STEM subjects are typically a lot more competitive than the humanities subjects.

I'm applying there too! Good luck with your application, I hope we both get in!

It depends a lot on if you get an offer, and what subjects you want to take. I will say that for your cohort entry should be quite a bit easier since LAES will be taking in a lot more year 12s next year due to us moving to our new building. Here's my advice though:

(If you get an offer)
If you want to take humanities - Just meet the entry requirements and you should be fine, grade requirements on these arent too strict
If you want to take STEM - These are a LOT more competitive, aim for an APS of around 8.0 for your top 8, even if you get an offer

(If you don't get an offer)

If you don't get an offer it depends a lot on what subjects are free, but I know people who didn't get offers and got in on the day for the subjects they wanted. You'd need exceptional grades for this if you want to do STEM (mostly 8s and 9s), again humanities will be more relaxed on the requirements.

My stats were as following (for Maths, Politics, Economics, Philosophy)
:Predicted - 99888887 (8.1 APS)
Achieved - 99988877 (8.1 APS)

In your case you should be fine with those grades given that they only care about your top 8 (inc eng. lang + maths) but make sure to maintain those grades as since you aren't a priority applicant getting an offer won't guarantee if you just meet the minimum entry requirements.

I want to apply to LAE and I want to take further maths for a-level but currently my predicted grade for maths is not a 9. On enrollment day, is it possible to subscribe for different subjects to what you applied for?

Yeah it is, just really difficult, but if you get the grades there's always a chance

All I really know about the new building is that we're moving into it next year and that it's a lot bigger and better equipped than our current building. I think there's more info out there but a building's a building it wont really affect much. Other than that, I'd say we get too many assemblies, but they're pretty easy to bunk and just go chill in the library and do work lol. I really can't think of any other negatives though, everything here is great and all my peers love it here (unlike brampton and ncs [sideeye])
