LMA Liverpool - acting for stage and screen

Hi I just attended the LMA open day in Liverpool and by the time the open day had finished I was dead set on going there next year to do the acting for stage and screen course. I was blown away with the connections they had to the performance industry with the likes of Glastonbury, itv and more. Was also talking to students who said they were getting sent information about auditions daily which they could audition for. Also hearing the experience the teachers have in the professional industry made me feel I could attend here and have a secure future in the industry. However after a few google searches I’m gutted to be reading such bad reviews from students on this university and would really like some advice on what I should do. I’m from the north of Ireland so travelled to Liverpool for the open day as I love the city of Liverpool and really want to study there next year. Any advice?

Hi!

I have a really close friend who is in her second year at LMA doing performing arts and she absolutely loves it, it is hard work and she gets up super early and doesn't finish till late but it is definitely worth the hard work, some of her course mates have been extras on sets such as the Gwed liverpool show on itv2 and there is so many opportunities within the degree itself! The teachers are all ex professionals meaning you will have some amazing connections there also! I have also seen the tik toks and stories about LMA but everyone that i have met from there has said they can't relate. If this is something you really want to do i would recommend you go for it! You will meet lots of lovely people and liverpool itself is a lovely city that's also very student friendly! It is a hard course but if you have the passion and dedication for it please give it a go!

Hope this helps,
Katy,
