i abandoned my gyg last year right before gcses so here i am again!

hello, i'm jay, i'm in year 12 and i am just another silly dude on this website trying to be am academic weapon :five:

gcse grades: 99888888887
sleep: around 5.5 hours/night
happiness: 5/10 :dancing:
stress: 3/10
dream uni/s: icl for aeronautical engineering or cambridge (not mad if i don't get in though)

grade aims!!
maths a*
physics a*
further maths (my downfall.) a
psychology a*

goals for this year
go to an engineering related work experience
lock the hell in for end of year mocks (no less than an a)
understand the ucas process, especially for early applicants
read more aerospace focused books
go to a tate mcrae concert if she announces another tour PLEASE
learn when to relax
get off instagram reels, it's not better than tiktok.
successfully do well in my young enterprise enrichment

basically praying for good predicted grades by the end of this year!
would appreciate any tips or help i could get, stick with me until the end c:

Nice subject combo 😁
Best of luck with all your goals for the year!
How are you finding your subjects so far in year 12?

Glad to hear most of your subjects have been going well 🙂
Physics is a funny one cos when i was doing it for a level i always felt like the lesson content was quite sparse but then the homework or exams were disproportionately difficult lol

tuesday 11/11/25 (rememberance day 💐)
days before first mocks: 56 days

hello! did not have time to post this morning, and i've just found out my further maths teacher isn't going to be in all week!! 😓 self study it is then
also getting my physics test back on SUVAT and motion tomorrow, i got humbled by it :frown:

goals:
understand what is happening with prim's algorithm (further)
more physics waves summary questions
target oxbridge interview: went decently okay but i forgot examples of renewable energy sources
finish my powerpoint for next week's assembly

i didn't do much today, that powerpoint needs to be done by tomorrow so i'll finish it at lunch and send it then 🤞

good night mls! stay safe

Thats unfortunate that your teacher isnt in, hope the feedback for physics is useful though 🙂
Whats your PowerPoint on? Hope the tasks go well!

wednesday 12/11/25
days before first mocks: 55 days

hello!! i actually got quite a bit of work done today and also forgot to do my psychology homework :colonhash: whoops
also i need to do some more psych revision because i do NOT remember the studies we've been talking about recently
i got my physics grade back and i got a B (one mark away from an A, only because my teacher bumped up the grade boundaries by around a whole 20%)
also idk if anyone here likes anime but i need to watch spyxfamily s3e6 because i still haven't and it came out on saturday c:

maths chapter 6 excercises
psychology hw for tomorrow
glancing over physics notes
fm - more chapter 3 self-study and questions
finish sudan powerpoint
psychology interference revision

love you guys, stay safe as always!! <3

A B is still great! Well done 🙂 What are the grade boundaries like for AS Physics with your exam board?
Best of luck with your tasks!

thank you!! :jive:
for AS, its around 57% for an A (aqa), my teacher bumped it up to 80% because she thought it would be too low for us to practice with on our end of topic tests

Thats unfair ☹️ Ik the boundaries for physics can be mean but 57% for an A seems very reasonable

Hi!,
Nice to meet you. I was wondering if you knew about any online course about aeronautical engineering that you could recommend me in orther to make a final boost to my supecurricular as I am applying on January for aeronautical engineering to ICL, Southampton, Bristol and two between Sheffield, Manchester and Bath.
And do you have any other tips? such as other supercurricular I should do or great resources for studying for ESAT apart from ENGAA and NSAA.
Thank you very much!

I really like your gyg - omg this is definitely motivating!! Good luck with everything

hi, so great to meet you!!
honestly i can't think of a lot of online courses, but one you could do is a springpod course for engineering at airbus online!! https://www.airbus.com/en/careers/life-at-airbus/working-here/working-at-airbus-in-the-uk/aerospace-engineering-virtual-work-experience

as a year 12 i honestly don't know much more you could do, a lot of interest outside of school like books or TED talks from what i've heard.

have a great day!!

sunday 23/11/25
days before first mocks: 44. what.

okay sorry for disappearing but a lot has happened, just generally being burnt out and sleepy. we're back though!!

had a fun time over this weekend and the past weeks, went to a youth conference and going to bath uni tomorrow for a year 12 trip so i'm super excited :woo:

i need to LOCK IN. physics has been such a bore and hell and very tiring, i am so failing lmao. apart from that, further maths has been so fun!! i've been enjoying it much more than i thought i would. i'm appreciating level 2 (gcse) further maths as well since it means i don't have to put too much effort into regular maths.

though my biggest priority HAS TO BE PHYSICS. i might put maths and psychology to the side right now because i have been feeling really annoyed and frustrated over everything do with mechanics and waves :frown: and i need a* predicted for ICL, so it has to go well

go over waves notes
do chapter 7 revision of maths
start chapter 5 of further maths + practice
do psychology hw
go on a walk :jive:
do further maths hw

anyway have a great day, stay safe as always!! <3

days before mocks: 43 :/

hello!! bath was super fun today, it is an absolutely gorgeous campus! it is going to be one of my options hopefully so i was happy to go round and explore it a little

i have a physics test on wednesday, just 10 multiple choice questions though, so should hopefully be okay? going to revise tomorrow for that. i've finished all my homework and probably just going to do some waves/optics revision and psychology (? or fm) work!! going to take it pretty chill since i'm sleepy

optics - redo notes w/savemyexams
waves and optics qs
do a couple psychology study summaries
watch the newest episode of spyxfamily s3
maybe finish 6.3 of further maths? if i have time, 6.4 too

see you soon!! stay safe <3
