Cambridge ELAT and college interviews 2026

Hi all,
Has anyone else heard from colleges regarding interviews/admissions tests for English? Or could anyone from previous years shed some light on how long this usually takes? It seems like a tight turnaround to submit written work for the 5th and for interview shortlists/invites to have been made and sent before the 18th (admissions test date).
Thanks all!! We've got this

Yay congrats ) from what I've read online you only take the test if you're shortlisted for interview! (Obviously don't take my word for it though, your college will let you know.)

Fingers crossed we hear soon - I’d assume today or tomorrow because then it’ll be a week from the exam, which I think is the common time frame for Cambridge?

Unsure when it starts (will probably be confirmed by college) but from what I’ve heard you’re given time to print it out ahead of the paper

How do we do the CELAT? I know it's online but do we go to a test centre? I've heard nothing

Hey, no you sit it at home or at school - whichever you prefer. You aren’t invigilated (in my invitation it said so) but this might vary from college to college! Hope this helps x
