Not employed living in temporary accommodations

Hello, I will try to explain in short my situation. I lived and still living in airbnb and hostels for the last year of uni, I was always employed but one month ago I had to take a break from working and resigned from employment due to write my dissertation and last assessments. I am planning to start working again very soon, about two weeks. I have received a letter from slc to update my employment situation and I responded I am unemployed and living with my savings. I could have also the possibility to stay temporary at my friend but I will not have tenancy. I would like to know if I will be required evidence and what type of and if I could be in any kind of trouble because of my difficult situation.
Thanks a lot

Hi Fedix84,

Can you confirm if you are a student with pre settled status in the UK and applied as a Migrant Worker?

Thanks, Clare

Hi Clare, I originally applied as migrant worker when started, but one year ago I was granted settled status. My final year will end in two months basically. If can be relevant, I have all the receipts of the places I have been at, Thank you

Hi there,

If you now have your settled status have you ever sent us your new settled status share code and the confirmation letter/email from the home office to confirm you have been granted settled status? Did you ever send us your P45 when you left your job?

Thanks, Drew

Hi, I sent the settled status letter from home office. I do not have p45 but I have a letter from hr with the date of my last day, is it valid? I am also starting a new job next week. My concern is what I will be asked as proof of address as at the moment I have no tenancy. Thank you

Hi there,

Yes, we can accept this as long as it's an official letter and it confirms the date the employment ended. Thanks, Jason

Hi Jason thanks, what about the accomodation, is it a problem if I have always lived in London but in temporary and if I stay with a friend? I will not have tenancy or receipts in this case

Hi there,

If you previously applied for finance as Migrant Worker, we only need proof you were working. If this has since changed, we need proof you have stopped by sending the p45 or letter from HR/manager with the details. If you haven't already we also need your share code to confirm your new status. You can upload this evidence online in your account under the evidence upload option.

Regarding your address we shouldn't ask for proof of this. If we did you would just explain in a cover letter your situation.

Thanks,
Claire
